First I would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love on our family. It has truly been awesome to see how many lives and hearts Scott has touched or impacted. I want you to know that if you were a part of Scott’s life, you have been prayed for by him. Whether you worked with him, or simply ate at the restaurant… You have been covered in prayer. Our purpose statement for the Attic was that people would sense the presence of God and encounter more than just another meal. That has also been the purpose statement of our lives.

The bible says that eternal life is in knowing the one true God and Jesus who he sent. In the midst of confusion and pain, I KNOW that Scott KNEW Jesus and is now with Him. That gives me great comfort. Scott knew Jesus more than being a regular church attendee and more than wearing a cross or having a fish logo on something. You can tell a tree by its fruit and by Scott’s fruit everyone knew that He really knew Jesus and walked with him. No one is perfect and God knows it is impossible for us to be on our own. Our heart condition has to be one that is listening and leaning into God. Scott had a very tender heart towards God and others. It would be his prayer that through his death those who know Jesus would press in and go deeper and for those of you who don’t know Jesus, who have already been prayed over by Scott, that this would be a defining moment in your spiritual journey. If you are in a place where you don’t even know what you believe about God or if there is a God, there is an illustration that has helped many. We can’t see the wind, but we can see the effects of the wind. The effects of God’s handprints have covered over Scott’s life.

I can’t explain or understand all of God’s timings, but I can say that in the midst of any circumstance, HE IS GOOD. I pray that as you hear from Scott’s heart that yours is stirred. Please see the video at the bottom of the blog. If you have any questions, I'd love to help you on your journey!

  1. Hi Jennifer,

I've been praying for you this week. Talk about timing...I saw that you were a follower of Danielle's blog and since I remember you from the online scrapbook party (sorry, I don't remember the name of it off the top of my head) and knew you were Jason's sister, so I thought I'd check your blog out. I thought about posting a comment, but I didn't. It was the next morning that we heard what had happened to your husband. I can't imagine what you are going through right now. As Christians we know that in times of sorrow, suffering, and hardship God is in complete control and has a reason for everything, even though we may not understand why. May He give you the strength and grace you need to get through this difficult time.
    I'm praying for you!!!

  2. Jennifer,

When I read your prayer request on my blog I cried out aloud to God! Tears are falling from my eyes even now as I write this comment to you! I am so deeply sorry for your loss! I know that God must be crying too for your pain and sorrow and for that of your children! I said I would not comment on these prayer requests, but I am compelled to respond to you! I am so sorry - so very sorry! Lord, bring beauty from Scott's ashes for the sake of your precious body - I praise you for the life of my brother, Scott, whom I never met in the flesh on this earth - but whose testimony I clearly see through these pages. Protect Jennifer and her children! May they heal perfectly, without any bitterness!! Lift them up and be their provider! In Jesus Name, Amen. I will continue to pray for you my sister in Jesus Christ. Sincerely, Kerry Hasenbalg
